  • Clinical Trials: The Past, The Present & You

    Participation in clinical trials for new blood cancer treatments should reflect the patient population who will use the treatment. Yet Black Americans continue to be underrepresented across most clinical trials – even for diseases like multiple myeloma, the most common blood cancer diagnosed in the Black community.

    Please join us to learn more about the need for diversity in clinical trial participation and what changes are necessary to make these trials more accessible to all patients.

  • Nutrition and Wellness Pop-Up

    Nutrition specialist and Oncology Nurse, Wendy Hollins will share Nutrition best practices and insight for cancer prevention as well as maintaining healthy habits during and after treatment.

  • Scott Ogden Drive Out Cancer Golf Tournament

    The Scott Ogden Drive Out Cancer Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, September 23rd at the beautiful Bethesda Country Club for the second year in row. This year marks our twentieth tournament overall, and we are excited to make this the best year yet!

  • Death & Dying Conversations

    Dr. David Schrier, Chief Medical Officer with Montgomery Hospice, will be joining us to discuss what hospice is and how to approach difficult conversations.

    This will be an open discussion.

  • Acupuncture (in-person only)

    Acupuncturist, Dr. Tierra Hardin, with Nobel Integrative Health, will be offering auriculotherapy acupuncture on the first Tuesday of every month from 12:30-2:00 PM. Auriculotherapy (ear) acupuncture focuses on anxiety, pain, and stress. A wavier must be signed at the start of class. 

  • Hypnosis for Symptom Reduction

    Recurring

    Hypnosis has been shown to decrease pain, anxiety and stress as well as other symptoms related to cancer treatment. Certified hypnotherapist Don Pelles will teach self-hypnosis techniques that will assist in the management of these symptoms.

  • Pilates

    Recurring

    This class is designed for cancer survivors. Healthy lifestyle and positive body image are part of the experience as participants are challenged to regain strength and mobility.

  • Advanced Cancer Group

    Recurring

    This professionally facilitated support group is for individuals diagnosed with metastatic cancer. Learn new ways of coping and connect with others who are going through a similar experience.

  • Blood Cancer Support Group

    Recurring

    This professionally facilitated support group is for individuals diagnosed with a blood cancer. Learn new ways of coping and connect with others who are going through a similar experience. Caregivers are welcome.
