Colette Magnant, MD, FACS

Colette Magnant, MD, FACS has been a breast cancer surgeon in the DMV for over 36 years. She graduated from the Medical College of Virginia / VCU in 1981 and finished her General Surgery Residency at Georgetown University Medical Center in 1986. She was the Director of Breast Cancer Surgery, Director of Trauma, and an Associate Professor of Surgery at Georgetown from 1989 until 1996. She started the Sullivan Breast Cancer Center at Sibley Hospital in 1998 and was the Director of the Breast Cancer Program there until December 2020.

Dr. Magnant was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Johns Hopkins during this period. She was then a breast cancer surgeon with Maryland Oncology Hematology from April 2021 until August 2022, when she retired from the practice of surgery. Dr. Magnant was voted Physician of the Year for Sibley Hospital in 2019, the first woman elected in 28 years and the second woman physician ever elected.
