Elena Gomez-Rey
Elena joined Hope Connections for Cancer Support in February of 2024 as Senior Operations Manager.
She grew up in Hampton, Virginia and spent her college years in Richmond getting a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Merchandising from Virginia Commonwealth University. Post college, she spent a few wonderful years in Houston, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia where she used her love of interacting with people to excel in the hospitality and hotel industry before settling in Washington DC in 2017. She then spent 6 years in high-end catering at Occasions Caterers as a seasoned professional in all things event production and operations. She is excited to use her knowledge of the events world to contribute to a wonderful organization impacting the lives of such a deserving community.
Elena’s first love is traveling and spends most free weekends visiting friends across the country. As a lover of the arts, Elena grew up singing in show choir, dancing at her local dance studio, and performing in school and community theatre productions. When home in DC she can be found catching a performance at the Kennedy Center or attending a comedy show. She enjoys the city life and all the culture and cuisine the DMV has to offer.
