Born and raised in the Washington area, primarily in Silver Spring, I moved to North Potomac in 1990 when I married Joyce Hilsberg. We have one daughter. Upon high school graduation in 1968, I joined the United States Coast Guard Reserves and was stationed in Cape May, New Jersey. During this time, I also attended the University of Maryland.

During the 70s, I joined my father in the residential real estate business until his retirement in 1980. With interest rates in the mid to high teens, I decided to change gears and go into the liquor and check cashing business. In the early 1980s, my brother Gary and I decided to start and sell fast food retail businesses. We would open a concept store in a mall or strip center, develop it into a profitable operation, and sell it.

My brother, unfortunately, passed away in 1993, and I continued this until 2005 when I returned to the real estate business, which was red hot at the time. I have been doing his ever since.

I have excellent “people skills” and know how to get things done with a love for problem-solving. Joining an organization like Hope Connections would be a venture I would truly enjoy! The opportunity to meet and connect with community members associated

HC is striving to give back to our community while making this organization stronger, and it is a welcomed attraction to me.
